Philly Airport

The Philly airport is a big International airport

The airport was dedicated the “Philadelphia Municipal Airport” by Charles Lindbergh in 1927. In In 1947 and 1950 had the following runways 4, 9, 12 and 17 and in 1959 brought runway 12.

It is located 7 miles from downtown and can be accessed easily by SEPTA, a regional rail. There is 25 different airlines with 500 daily departures to more than 130 destinations worldwide.  UPS has it regional cargo hub.

In 2018 it was ranked as the worst large airports in the USA.

They have

  • Terminal A
  • Terminal B
  • Terminal C
  • Terminal D
  • Terminal E
  • Terminal F

We landed de-planed and waited for the others to get off and we were in Terminal D.  We walked to find the metro or regional rail line.

We brought our rail tickets, $30 later. We missed that due to my going to the bathroom so we had to wait the 30 min.

From what I saw it was an OK airport.

We got to the airport about 2 hours early due to the late flight. We left from terminal D as well.

We walked right up and walked thru the TSA precheck. The others had to wait about 20 min. I like TSA precheck so far so good.  Makes standing in line nice.

We got some food and we waited. It was a smooth take off, but the plane was full and it was very tight and I couldn’t do much.

Some pictures of the airport

Well, we really didn’t get to take a tour of it or have time to look around. It was simple to come land walk out and get aboard the regional rail and go into the city.  It was nice to walk to the train and from the train to the terminal D.
