Ruby Princess, Buffet

If you would like to know what the buffet was like on the Ruby Princess, then you have come to the right spot. Read on.

Staple

The buffet is a stable of the cruise, well, in my opinion, anyway. The buffet is another option for eating on the cruise ship. Some people don’t like to eat in the dining room. They don’t.

Layout

However, the buffet on the Ruby follows the following layout.

The only way you can access the buffet is from the aft of the ship or the midship. You can’t get to the other side unless you walk out of the buffet and enter the other entrance. Thus, being asked to wash your hands. Which is fine, butter safe than sorry.

Open

The Horizon Court is open for the following hours:

  • Breakfast
    • 6 AM to 11:30  AM
  • Lunch
    • 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Afternoon Snacks
    • 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Dinner
    • 5:30 to 10 PM

How does that work, Justin? Well, let me explain it to you.

Café Capri is open for breakfast, then closes down a bit early. Opens up for lunch. One side closes down a bit early and opens for lunch.

Only one side is open for afternoon snacks. Then, when the others open for dinner. Then, the afternoon snack side is prepared for dinner.

Also they had these on the tables in the buffet

Probably one of the best things ever. I have seen people go up early in the morning and never leave. I will admit that I sat there after 9:30 at night with my iPad or Macbook and doing some work. But I wasn’t there all freaking day.

Food

The food quality was good for buffet food. I mean, it wasn’t a five-course meal. I mean you could make it a five-course meal if you want to. I ate there for breakfast a couple of times. It was good food and good service.

Lunch and dinner were good when I ate there one night.

Afternoon snacks were an excellent way to go when my wife was looking for something to snack on and the international café didn’t have anything she wanted.

Here is an image of what was offered every night in the Cafe Caribe.

Overall

It is an excellent place to go and people watch and to eat if you would like to at any time from 6 AM to 10 PM. Something is always there.
