Since this cruise is 15 days long. I have decided to break this up into two postings. Here is the first posting.

Today, we decided to do something different from what we usually would do. We ate at a specialty restaurant. Here is what we had

  • House Special
    • Arancini al Tartufo
  • Insalata Mista
  • Flatbread
    • Shared with my wife
  • Lobster Tortelloni
  • Desert
    • Rocher

Wife

  • Ribollita
  • Scallopine di Pollo al limone e rosmarino
    • Chicken
  • Desert
    • Vanilla Panna Cotta

We also had bread and an Olive Oil and vinegar-based dipping sauce

Today, we ate in the main dining room for dinner, and this is what we had

Me

  • Cobb Salad
  • Roasted Herb-Crusted Striploin
  • Desert
    • Coconut Mousse
    • Hot chocolate

Wife had

  • Honey and Rum Boasted Pineapple
  • Pan Roasted Chicken Breast
  • Desert
    • Nothing

I was as shocked as you are when reading this. She loves the cheesecake but opted not to get it.

Tonight was formal night, and that meant some excellent food. Well, better food. Here is what was on the docket for tonight.

This is what I had for dinner

  • Lump Crab cakes
  • Whole Roasted Beef Tenderloin, Cognac, and Peppeercorn Dmi-Glazed
    • I didn’t get a photo of this one, sorry
  • Desert
    • I did create your Sundae
      • Vanilla Ice Cream
      • Butterscotch
      • They didn’t have pineapples.

Wednesday, October 25, 2023

Today, we didn’t make the reservation at five because we just got back an hour before. My father-in-law was asleep, and I needed to figure out a computer issue for the wife while we could receive SMS texts.

We ate in the Da Vinci dining room on deck 6.

I had the following

  • Ladle
  • Baked Mahi Mahi, Caper-Citrus Dressing
  • Desert
    • Sour Cream Apple Pie
      • I asked for two scoops of ice cream but only got one.

Wife got

  • Salad
  • Pan-roasted chicken Breast
  • Desert
    • Crème

Since we had the Premier package, we decided to eat in the only casual dining area on the ship. The Salty Dog Gastropub in the Wheelhouse Bar is open nightly from 6 PM to 10 PM.

The wife and I got the following:

  • Salty Dog’s Dip Sticks
    • Complimentary Appetizer
  • E menthol and Gruyère Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup
  • The SDG Burger

For Desert, we had

  • Strawberries & Cream

Friday,  October 27, 2023,

For Friday, we ate in the main dining room. We didn’t go to our standard scheduled time. We went at about 6 PM and ate in the Michelangelo dining room.

I had the following:

  • Coconut Shrimp, Pineapple cocktail sauce
  • Tender Greens, Trio of Cheese
  • Macadamia & panko crusted Mahi Mahi

Desert

  • Warm berry cobbler

The wife had

  • Watermelon with Honey-citrus Mascarpone
  • Ravioli Di Ricotta
    • As a starter
  • Herb Roasted Chicken

Desert

  • Nothing, I don’t know what is up with her this trip.

Tonight was a formal night on the ship, the second one, and well, we didn’t go to it in the dining room. We went to the buffet instead. Not my choice.

Back in the dining room today.

I got the following:

  • Singapore Street—Style Beef Satay
  • Island-spiced Jerk Chicken with rice and Red Beans

Desert

  • Sour Crean Apple pie with Streusel Crumble
  • Two scoops of Grapefruit sorbet

Wife got

  • Island Pineapple with candied Pistachios and chicken

Desert

  • Transitional New York Cheesecake

Thoughts

My Thoughts on the food so far on the ship. There have been a lot of good options. But eating at the buffet for dinner just wasn’t what I wanted to do. But it is OK. We have eaten some good stuff on the cruise, and it shows.
