The west coast of the United States has been much forgotten about for cruising. Royal Caribbean pulled up and left the west coast all expect for Alaska during May – September. That was the first cruise we went on was the Mariner of the Seas by Royal Caribbean.
Carnival and Princess do the west coast, they haven’t given up hope. Yes, it is limited as to where they can go.
- Mexican Riveria
- Catalina and Ensenada
- California Coastal
- 28 Day South Pacific
Something must be happening on the West Coast, Princess just placed the Royal Princess a 3,500 Passenger ship sailing out of San Pedro. Carnival which sails out of Long Beach just put a Brand New ship on the west coast. Yes, you read that right. A BRAND NEW SHIP!!
They are doing something special and they are moving the splendor to Australia. Beginning with a Sailing on Oct. 5, 2019 spending 24 days leaving from Los Angles and going to Singapore.
The Carnival Miracle will be taking over for the Splendor for a few weeks.
Dec. 14, 2019, the new ship will be arriving to start cruising 7-day trips to

- Puerto Vallarta
Here is a virtual tour of the new ship
It consists of 15 decks to explore can hold up to 4,008 passengers double occupancy of course. The crew of 1450 and the tonnage is 133,500 GT. At least Carnival is doing the west coast of the USA right.
