Review:

Just looking at it you could tell it was going to be a fun hotel. It was hidden and not with a big sign or anything. I would have driven right by it if the shuttle driver didn’t know where it was at. The entrance wasn’t big enough to have a shuttle turn around.  So it had to back up, to the entrance.

Hotel Staff

The hotel staff was very friendly, they checked us in early. I mean really early. We got off the ship and the shuttle brought us to the hotel and they had three rooms ready. They didn’t charge us any fees for early check-in, as it was their policy to do so. But, it wasn’t our fault we couldn’t wait until 3 for check-in.  So it was a nice gesture on their part. It was a nice hotel but in need of several upgrades.

Here is what I thought of the hotel:

Room Comfort:

The rooms were OK, the bathroom was small and the sink was by the door. You had a couple of queen beds. It was nice for the time we spent in it.

Room Cleanliness:

The room was cleaned when we checked into it, but, I did notice some bugs crawling on the walls.

Value:

It was cheaper for a Saturday night stay than other hotels.

Wi-Fi:

I only used this for about an hour or so. It wasn’t the fastest, but it was OK. I didn’t overtax it and try to upload all my photos to the cloud. I just checked my e-mail and surfed the net.

Shuttle:

The Shuttle was good, we took it from the hotel to the Metro rail (light link) and it was good. The driver was nice and said to go to the airport in order to get picked up. But you could just walk from the stop, it is about a 10 min walk.

Facilities:

You could that it was in need of upgrades. The lobby was nice, but as you walked down the hall it felt like sections of the floor could collapse. There were soft spots all over the place.

Breakfast:

It provided a good free breakfast which consisted of

  • Belgium Waffles
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Sausage
  • Bagels
  • Muffins
  • Juices, Orange on tap and apple juice in a pitcher in the fridge
  • Coffee (I didn’t see any hot chocolate)

I guess if you needed a room to stay and didn’t want to pay a high price than this is a good spot for you.
