Name of Hotel:  The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel

Address:  790 7th Ave, New York, NY, 10019

Website:  https://www.manhattanhoteltimessquare.com/

Location:

790 7th Ave, New York, NY, 10019

Room Comfort:

It was okay, it was small. The beds were only full-size beds. Coming from a King, it was a bit small. But that is what you get when you travel.

Room Cleanliness:

It was clean. The bathroom had an issue. I forgot to take a photo. But I did videotape it. So check out the video.

Value:

Given the location in Times Square, I thought 953 dollars was well worth it. It was a couple of blocks from Wicked—a 1/2 block from the tour. bout 5 to 6 blocks from the middle of Times Square, you know the ball drops on New Year’s Eve. I thought it was pretty good.

Staff Services:

Overnight service was a bit slow. We stood in line for about 20-25 min before we were even seen. They were running out of rooms. That is why we got into the room we did. The overnight manager offered us the following:

  • Credit for the resort fee for 2 nights
    • That is $40 a day
    • Move to a bigger room the next day
      • We declined that because we didn’t want our bags to be sitting out all day. You know I have a ton of tech.
  • The bellhops were good

The main thing was that it just took forever to find a room

WiFi:

It was decent. I didn’t see any access points, so I am not sure what hardware it was running. But we needed it for a Zoom call to do our stupid COVID medical-assisted tests. That worked well.

Facilities:

It is an older building. So yeah, it had some issues. It had a fitness room. I am not sure if it had a pool. I just saw the fitness area. For the location of the hotel and the number of rooms in the hotel. It was a bit small. But I didn’t use it.

The only things I saw wrong were the issue in the bathroom and that half the lamps in the room didn’t work.

Breakfast:

Was there if you wanted to pay for it. It wasn’t a sit-down or anything like that. Basiclly just coffee and some muffins.

Summary:

Overall, it was a decent place to lay your head. But it did have some issues. Suppose they could correct those issues. It would be a great place to stay. Close to a lot of stuff.

Was it worth it

For what we were doing, yes it was worth it for 2 nights. I could live with the issues. But that is just me. Others might not be able to stay there. But that is a personal thing. It had A/C, and that is what mattered to my wife.
