Some people are asking who Foreigner is. I have never heard of them before. Then, my friend, you have led a sheltered life.
Let me explain
Foreigner
They are a British-American rock band. But, they were formed in New York City in 1976. That is odd. They were formed by the next:
Mick Jones, Guitarist
Lou Gramm, Vocalist
Dennis Elliott, Drummer
Al Greenwood, Keyboardist
Ed Gagliardi, Bassist
Ian McDonald, multi-instrumentalist
They are one of the best-selling bands of all time. They have sold more than 80 million records.
The name Foreigner means that half of the band was British and half were Americans. They would be foreigners no matter what country they were in.
They have had significant songs go to number and in the top 10 for years. Some of the songs they sing are the next:
Urgent
Waiting for a Girl like you
Juke Box hero
Dirty White Boy
I want to know what love is
Cold as Ice
Double vision
It feels like the first time
Star Rider
I go on, but you get what I am talking about. I hope.
The Concert
This is the last long tour they are doing. A long tour means being on the road for 9 months a year. They are just getting too old for it.
They did 7 nights in Vegas at the Ventianion Hotel. It was nice they didn’t have to take down the stage every night. They could do other things as well. I will get into that here in a moment.
This was in The Phantom of the Opera. This wasn’t a concert venue, but it was rocking and rolling when they performed.
There was no opener for them. They just got into the music, and it was awesome. They started right on time and went for a long time. You know, like, until 8:20 since they had to sleep.
Just Kidding, they went until about 10 to 10:30 PM. They sang many of the hit songs they have made over the years.
My favorite song of theirs is Juke Box Hero. It wasn’t what I thought it would be, hearing it live. The song went on for 10 minutes. It was great.
They did do an encore, where they sang Hot Blooded. That was a good song.
The whole family went to it. My son loves Foreigner; I did listen to that music all the time when he was growing up. So he does have some good taste in music.
He was bummed that they didn’t sing some of the other songs.
We sat up towards the top, and that was fine
We had a great view of the stage.
Since they were doing 7 nights in Vegas, they did some singing that they usually don’t do. They did a few songs in acapella. That was cool, I mean no drums or keyboards, but some guitar work.
Overall
The concert was fantastic. I enjoyed it. The music was good, and the arena was rocking. It was great seeing them live. Growing up, I loved listening to all that good music—especially Juke Box Hero and Hot Blooded.
I would suggest you go out and see them before it is too late.
