I did a blog posting about Real ID over here. Suppose you haven’t checked it out. However, for some reason, someone thinks a Costco card can bypass TSA security. Yeah, not smart.

Forgot your Real ID

You are standing in the TSA line at the airport, and you realize you forgot your ID. Most people would be like What am I going to do. Do I have my Passport? Any other forms of ID?  Most would be panicking and thinking crap. I am screwed. But hey, you have a Costco ID.

No Worries

I have a Costco Card and I use that. So you get up to the line and you whip out your Costco Card.

Show the TSA agent, and you’re on your way. It should be as simple as that. I mean, your Costco card should allow you into everything at Sam’s Club.

Talking About

A blogger mentioned that you can use your Costco ID to bypass the Real ID requirement.

I mean, come on, people, you think a club membership card will get you past security at the airports?

Yes, a Costco card could help determine who you are. However, it isn’t an acceptable use to bypass TSA security.  Even TSA is talking about this.

Common Sense

To me, it is just the ability to use your brain. I mean, come on. I won’t go to Costco and use my Sam’s Club membership to try to get in. 

 “That isn’t logical.”

Who would think to use your Costco card at TSA as a form of Real ID? Well, not me.
