Long Beach Cruise port update

The port of Long Beach is where Carnival Cruise as set up shop for cruise lines.  Where the rest go out of The Port of San Pedro.

The Dome

The Dome has been used as the bat cave, Wayne Manor in a couple of Batman Movies. It held ice sculpture contests and it held Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose, the Spruce Goose is now in Oregon. When the Dome was completed it cost $4,000,000. The dome sits on a 45-acre called Queen Mary Complex.

Carnival Cruise Line

After 15 years in Long Beach, Carnival wanted something more and they got it. They operate out of the Dome that housed Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose, the Spruce Goose is now in Oregon. With the desire to cruise bigger ships on the West Coast Carnival needed more than the 66,000 square feet. So in 2018, it took over the whole Dome all 142,000 square feet.
