Embracing the Magic of “Frozen: The Play

The second play we saw at Tucahn on this trip was Frozen. Yes, they have a play version of the hit movie.

Will the play stand up to the movie’s quality? I mean, I even liked the movie. Are you shocked that I liked something?

Let’s talk about it.

The Play

As I mentioned before, this was an advertisement from Disney. It showed the story of Anna and Elsa in a live show.

The actors who played the characters brought them alive. I mean, the people who played Anna and Elsa really portrayed the characters well. They showed that they had what it takes to sing the good old songs of the movie.

I mean, music brings the fun to musicals, I guess. The old-fashioned songs of Let It Go and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” even had some new songs in the play’s narrative.

The choreography was good, well, in my opinion. I mean, I am no Paula Adubl, but I am a close second. The choreography brought visual appeal to the play.

As a stage crew member for plays in my younger days, I thought the set was designed to use every inch of the stage for the story to unfold. The lighting was great, given the design of the Tuchan and the stage. It brought the play to life.

You know, due to copyright issues, we weren’t supposed to take pictures of the play. But here are some photos.

Thoughts

I was really hesitant to see this. I am a fan of the movie, and I didn’t want it to ruin my view of it. But it was really good. I liked everything about this show. The music and choreography made the play.

If you ever have a chance to see the play, no matter where you see it, I think you will enjoy it.

Granted, the special effects aren’t as good as the movie. But hey, that’s OK. You can have an imagination, and you can visualize the ice coming from Elsa.
