Adventure in Sitka, Quantum

This adventure, booked through the ship, involved visiting the National Park. Let’s find out what we did there.

Sitka National Park

We met in the Royal Theater on Deck 4, where we disembarked to the shuttle bus.

We made our way into town and headed to the park. This was a self-guided tour through the rainforest, during which we learned about Indigenous totems.

We saw some totem poles and learned about the people who lived here before the Russians, the Americans, or anyone else came.

Done with That

Once we were done with that, we walked into town to explore its offerings.

We did some shopping and went on a quest to get some Diet Coke, and yes, we got a 12-pack for my wife. She was happy.

Offers

They offer a free shuttle into town and back to the ship. However, you will have to get tickets for that shuttle service. They were giving those out the day before we arrived in Sitka. We didn’t have to bother with the tickets because we had something booked through the ship.

Thoughts

If I had to do it again, I would have just taken the shuttle from the ship to town and walked to Sitka National Park. It wasn’t that far. It was a nice place, but I wouldn’t pay for it on the ship-sponsored tour.

I enjoyed history, and this was a fun little place to visit, but only if it stopped raining.
