Since Salt Lake City is a massive Delta Hub, the airport is constantly adding new direct flights to keep up with the fancy new airport renovation.

As of February 2026, here are the Top 5 coolest international destinations you can fly to from SLC without a single layover:

1. Seoul, South Korea (ICN) 🇰🇷

• The Vibe: Neon lights, incredible street food, and the birthplace of K-Pop.
• The Flight: This is a brand-new route (launched in June 2025!) and is currently the only direct flight to Asia from the entire Mountain West region.
• Travel Hack: Because Delta is a partner of Korean Air, you can land in Seoul and easily hop to places like Tokyo, Bangkok, or Bali on the same “team.”

2. Lima, Peru (LIM) 🇵🇪

• The Vibe: Incredible history (Machu Picchu!), surfing, and some of the best food in the world.
• The Flight: Delta recently launched a seasonal direct flight connecting Salt Lake City to South America. It’s perfect for a winter break getaway.
• Travel Hack: SLC is one of the few cities in the U.S. with a direct “gateway” to the Andes Mountains.

3. Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS) 🇳🇱

• The Vibe: Canals, world-famous museums, and a totally different way of life (everyone bikes!).
• The Flight: This is a classic SLC route. Amsterdam’s airport (Schiphol) is one of the easiest to navigate in the world.
• Travel Hack: If you want to see the rest of Europe, Amsterdam is the perfect “starting point” because you can take high-speed trains to London, Paris, or Berlin in just a few hours.

4. Guadalajara, México (GDL) 🇲🇽

• The Vibe: The “Silicon Valley” of Mexico—full of culture, music, and amazing technology.
• The Flight: Volaris (a budget airline) has just announced it will launch this direct route in June 2026.
• Travel Hack: Since Volaris is a low-cost carrier, this is usually one of the cheapest ways to get deep into Mexico without spending a fortune.

5. Paris, France (CDG) 🇫🇷

• The Vibe: The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and more pastries than you can eat in a lifetime.
• The Flight: This flight is operated by Air France (Delta’s “best friend”). It feels like you’ve arrived in Europe the second you step on the plane because the food and service are very French.

Honorable Mention: London (LHR) 🇬🇧

If you want to visit the UK, Virgin Atlantic and Delta both run direct flights from SLC. Virgin Atlantic is famous for having “the coolest” planes with mood lighting and great snacks.

Thoughts

Well, for being an international airport, they really don’t have that many flights out of the country. However, these flights look good. I would love to fly to Lima, nonstop.

Flying on Air France to Paris would be nice. All these flights seem like a good fit for SLC. But they need to get more.
