At this moment, it is sailing in Australia. It is currently there doing cruises. It was the last ship to return to service following the COVID-19 thing.
It has done the following sailings

- Did European ports
- November 2008
- Moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- March 2009
- Moved to Long Beach, California
- Took 49 days due to the size of the ship.
- Moved to Long Beach, California
- February 2013
- I went around South America again to go to New York.
- Then, the boat went to Florida to do Eastern and Western Cruises.
- March 2014
- Splendor went to Norfolk, Virginia, before heading back to New York.
- October 2015
- Announced it was moving to China in 2018
- November 2016
- Back to Long Beach to do the Mexican Riviera
- This time, going through the Panama Canal, the largest ship to sail the new locks.
- October 2019
- Left Long Beach for Sydney but went to China for a dry dock.
Issues
2010
Two days into her cruise, she had significant issues. The ship had a fire that caused the ship to lose all power and had to be towed to San Diego. With the power out, they lost the following:
- Air conditioning
- Refrigeration
The 4,500 people had to be fed rations via the Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.
I’m not sure why all the power went out due to the engine design, but that happened.
The passengers got
- Refunded for ticket and travel expenses
- Voucher for a free cruise of equal value
In 2012, some passengers were robbed on a ship-sponsored activity. No one was harmed, but they had everything stolen from them.
2017
Engine issues by Puerto Rico
2023
A passenger of the Splendor passed away while swimming.
My Thoughts
I went on this ship in 2019 to the Mexican Riviera. This ship was excellent. We had a balcony cabin. It was nice. There were 3 of us in the cabin. The room was comfortable, and the food was plenty. They had a deli at the back of the ship that my wife just loved. They had a retracting roof on the pool deck. It is an excellent addition.
I would suggest this ship. I enjoyed it.
Video
Yep, I did a video about this.
