Oregon Trip Day 5, July 3, 2017

Monday, July 3, 2017, in Lincoln City, Oregon. We started off with a hike over at Drift Creek Falls Tr. The drive was on the usual thing we have seen on this trip very curvy and plus it was a one-lane road at times. We got there and there was no parking whatsoever, we found a spot off the side of the road almost in a dip. The hike cost $5 dollars which we had to tag our car.

The hike was about 1.5 miles, and the bridge was 1.25 miles away it was a hike. I mean it was a hike. It was 1.5 miles back to the parking lot for a total of 3 miles. It was a great hike and a good workout. Was it worth it? I think it was as it was a great view of our world we have and we need to enjoy.

Airplanes and more

Then we went over to Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum which was an awesome thing to visit. The Spruce Goose was there and that was a great big airplane. The story behind that airplane is an amazing one. Howard Hughes had a dream and that dream was to build a lot of seaplanes. But, that dream never was realized. Now back to the Space Museum. There were a lot of different types of aircraft there.

  • Helicopters
  • Apollo spacecraft
  • Fighter jets
  • Wright brothers first airplane
  • Lear jet
  • Blue Angel
  • Migs

The first building housed the following:

  • Early Flight: 1903-1918
  • The Golden Age: 191-1939
  • World War II: 1939-1945
  • Outdoor Artifacts
  • homebuilt
  •  Captain Michael King Smith Firearms Collection

Space Vessels

  • Launch a Titan II Rocket and Gemini Capsule Simulator
  • Destination Moon
  • Rotary Flight
  • Space Shuttle Simulator
  • North Gallery
  • Exploring the universe
  • Education theater

The list goes on and on. It was a long day but the sights were great.  The evergreen Museum  was featured on Leverage Season 5 Episode 1 “The Big Bird Job”

We got back to Lincoln city and stopped by Figaro’s pizza it was a good pizza.
